Remember that student run server we mentioned? The name Roxanne for Roxanne.Org actually comes from the name of the orignal server on which all of our lists and jokes and family members began to accumilate.

Roxanne is the name of a character from the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand. She is the lovely cousin of Cyrano and the object of his eternal affection. Yet, she never comprehends just how much he truly loves her.

So, Eric - who continues to run the orginal server for Roxanne.org - thought that Roxanne would be an appropriate name for his computer. They spend lots of time together. She is an integral part of his life; so much so that he can't imagine living without her. And we're pretty sure that she will never truly know how much Eric, and the rest of us here, need her.
