Roxanne is now an AMD 64bit server w/1GB of RAM running Fedora Core 1.
This page details her history.
- December 1, 1994
Original purchase: Gateway 4DX2-66 PCI desktop computer.
4 MB (70ns) RAM, Combo Disk drive (5.25" and 3.5"), 730 MB
Hard Drive, 28.8 Telepath Modem, 2x CD-ROM, PS2 Mouse, Cirrus
video board w/ 1MB RAM, and 15" Vivitron 1572 Monitor.

Dual Floppy drive replaced. Install OS/2 Warp
- August, 1995
Linux 1.2.8 installed
- September, 1995
"Roxanne" becomes a networked computer on Centre College's Network
(roxanne.centre.edu)
- October, 1995
Web Server added to Roxanne
- January 5, 1996
Memory upgrade from 4 MB to 8 MB, UPS added (APC SmartUPS 700), and Tape Backup added
- March, 1996
Mailing list server added
- June, 1996
Roxanne moves to roxanne.pcix.com

Monitor Replaced

OS upgraded to Linux version 2.0.0

Complete server rebuild. Gateway P5-120 tower, 96MB ram, Red Hat 7.0, 2GB drive.
- January 16th, 2005
- Complete server rebuid on the first, brand-new hardware since 1994:
- AMD Athlon 64-bit 3GHz CPU
- Asus single Athlon 64 motherboad w/800MHz front-side bus
- 1GB 400MHz DDR Ram
- Two 120GB HD
- Antec Sonata MidTower case with 380w silent power supply with quiet fans
- Sony 8x DVD +/- RW / CD-R/RW combo drive
- Fedora Core 1
